Dr. Rudolf Rauch, Director of Energy Programme Indonesia/ASEAN


Dr. Rauch has received his Ph.D in Physics from Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich. He started his professional career with Netzsch Instruments responsible for technical sales to Asia. He joined GIZ in 1991, holding various positions in Germany and Asia. Major assignments abroad have been in Thailand, India and Indonesia, where he initiated and implemented cooperation projects in renewable energy and energy efficiency. His experience ranges from policy development, working with government institutions to practical project implementation with the private sector. Presently, he is stationed in Jakarta managing GIZ's renewable energy portfolio in Indonesia as well as a support programme for ASEAN countries, as the Director of Energy Programme Indonesia/ASEAN.

Karl Segschneider, Principal Advisor



Karl Segschneider has received his MA in Human and Environmental Management from Chiang Mai University (in the Thai language), and also a Thai language Diploma from the Royal Thai Ministry of Education. He has worked for GIZ and other development organizations for more than 15 years, holding various positions in Southeast Asia, South Asia and Africa. His expertise is in the field of Renewable Energy, Value-Chain Management, Rural Development and Electrification and Agrobusiness. He is now based in Jakarta since August 2016, and leads the LCORE-INDO team in supporting the Directorate General for New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Republic of Indonesia, for developing renewable energy options, best practice, planning and implementation. Through pilot projects beneficial cost-ratios in electricity generation are worked out and put on a firm data basis. The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the contribution to the country’s sustainable economic and environmental goals are inherent objectives of LCORE-INDO.


Adnan Tripradipta, Advisor

    Admitted into the LCORE-INDO project team in September 2013. Adnan Tripradipta has regional business development background in both of private and non-profit sectors. After a stint with several technology and manufacturing companies in Europe and Singapore, he experiences working among others on capacity building and technical assistance projects in the renewable energy sector. He also has extensive experience in writing grant proposals and has successfully obtained funding from European donors for the development programmes on behalf of local and international client companies and organisations.

 Vegaswarasti Kumala, Advisor

  Vega graduated with a double degrees in Environmental Engineering and Science at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Surabaya, Indonesia, and Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Deventer, Netherlands. She then pursued her MSc in Water Resources and Environmental Management at Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany. The MSc programme was fully supported by DAAD-BMBF Sustainable Water Management Scholarship.  Before joining GIZ, Vega worked as a researcher at Fraunhofer UMSICHT in the division of biomass and residue utilisation.  She joined LCORE-INDO in April 2015 and has been supporting  projects related to biomass-to-energy.

Dody Setiawan, Junior Advisor

Dody holds bachelor degree on Geophysics and Meteorology from Bogor Agricultural University and a master degree from International Master Program on Environment Sustainable Development at National Central University Taiwan. He has 2 years business development experience on solar PV application and LED lighting in Indonesia. In addition, he also worked with NGO and research institution on climate and energy fields. Dody joined the project in November 2016 and is responsible for knowledge management, activity monitoring and support for bioenergy related activities. 

 Mary Martinus, Finance and Contract

    Mary is a GIZ employee who had worked with the company for more than seven years. Her longest tenure was in the field of Good Governance, where she was working in several projects assuming different roles in the area of administration, communication, finance, and internal control. As of January 2014, she is an official member of LCORE-INDO in charge of project finance and contract.

Jan Rina, Office Manager

  Rina graduated from Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, majoring in International Relations. Bofore joining LCORE-INDO, she has working experiences as office manager in EnDev ID and some other GIZ projects in Yogyakarta, since year 2006.
